Niwot Community Connection Monthly Meeting

Correction to earlier newsletter: Thursday, October 12, 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

The NCC honors the changeability of the fall season by bringing its meetings inside to The Grange.
In addition to the group's usual agenda, special guest Biff Warren will elucidate the importance of community writing, and keynote speaker Molly Briggs will present "Zero Waste and Sustainability," a comprehensive look at how to make a difference with what you are recycling and composting, in addition to offering tips on how to navigate the latest guidelines.
Bring your questions and any recycle/compost materials that stump you.

Boulder County Commissioners'

Niwot Town Hall Meeting

Thursday, October 12, at 5:30 p.m.

This event is open to the public. The Commissioners will meet with representatives and constituents to discuss issues of concern for the local community. Get answers to the issues that concern you.

The Society for Creative Anachronisms

Danse Macabre event

Saturday, October 21, 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Do you love the Renaissance fair? Come enjoy playing in The Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA). The SCA is devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth skills, arts, combat and culture. It's where you can enjoy dressing up in history everyday while learning fencing, fighting, archery, equestrian, music, dancing, and art throughout history.
The Barony of Caer Galen invites you to explore and create the past.

The SCA will be hosting Danse Macabre, a medieval full-day masquerade Halloween event.
Enjoy art, games, dancing, and a spooky potluck. Prizes will be given for the best costume and the scariest, best tasting dish. Illumination contest all day. Light tables, pens, and paint will be provided.
Arts and crafts will be available all day - come decorate a skull or mask.

Adults: $15, members get a $5 discount.

Niwot Historical Society Lecture

The Haunted West
Wednesday, October 25, 7:00 p.m.

Stories of those who sought their fortune in the old mining camps continue to haunt the American West. Over his decades of research and travel to hundreds of old ghost towns, documentary filmmaker and author, Ethan Knightchilde has encountered the fascinating, the heart-rending, and the inexplicable. Come hear his somber, supernatural tales, both real and imagined.

Free to Niwot Historical Society members,
$5 for general admission. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Waves of Grain Farmer Celebration

Friday, October 27, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Celebrate our farmers as they finish a challenging season in the fields. We’ll gather for a bountiful feast prepared by Chef Lance. Many farmers familiar to people in Boulder County are invited. Special Guest: Marcus McCauley.
Mingle at mocktail hour starting at 5:30 p.m., seating at 6:30
Buy Your Tickets Here. $75 per plate, $25 for farmers.
This is an alcohol free even and children are welcome.

Community Dance Classes

5:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Teacher and choreographer Lindy Bartruff invites all ages and levels to the lindybdance Fall Celebration featuring line dance classes and social dance workshops for $10 per person or $15 for couple.

This month's dance styles include Jazz, Line Dance, and Latin instruction. Class level and content will be matched to participants.
